The Carbon Series a product by Rethinking Climate is an preliminary investigation into the carbon reduction debate. We interviewed organizations involved in the carbon calculators and carbon offsets sector.

Our first series as part of the podcast is an initial investigation and interviews about the measures taken to quantify each carbon dioxide (CO2) and to offset it. We interviewed experts from four different organizations.

Danielle Laity: Founder of Aurora Sustainability

Danielle has a background in building financial technology products and has always been very passionate about building solutions that solve problems and make a difference in people’s lives. As the Open Innovation Manager at Standard Bank, she lead projects like Shyft and after that I moved into the international startup space where I worked on Product Strategy at Luno and Yoco. Sustainability has always been important to me in a personal capacity and when I managed Data, Design, Brand and Product as the GTM lead for MIRIS in Norway and then realised the impact that people can make on the planet.

daniel fisher: technical manager at ecophere+

Daniel is theTechnical Manager at E+, helping the Ecosphere+ team with all things project related, from bringing onboard new projects to technical support questions for clients. He is a graduate of the University of Birmingham where he studied Geography. He is excited about the incredible technical work that is being developed such as mapping and GIS to protect, restore and track the world’s most vulnerable areas. With these tools we can tell the story and positive impact of our amazing projects on the ground.

Kai Rassmus Landwehr: Head of Marketing at myclimate

Kai Landwehr works as head of marketing at „myclimate“, a Swiss-based NGO focusing on climate protection and sustainability measures. He is an expert in communications and sustainability with strong expertise in sports and digitalisation. Before tapping into climate protection, Kai has worked ten years in the sporting goods industry as communications and brand manager for „Nike“. Born and raised in Germany, he holds a « Master of Arts » degree in Ancient History from the Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf.

Sven Jense: founder climate cleanup

Sven is finding and implementing systemic climate solutions, starting from what actually needs to be done. His mission to solve climate change is further fuelled by the desire to leave a great world for his sons Lovael and Elouan, future generations and other life.
